i have 3 workgroup computers with lan using window xp, almost i use one computer and i want to ristrict unothrised enternet uses on another computers. so i want to control another computers from my computer. is it possible? please tell me.How can i control workgroup computers to ristrict anothrised internet use established on window xp?

You have to install the software CC Proxy in the below link and you can control internet access


for example 3 pc in your office one computer can access internet access and another computer cannot access internet and another computer can access only particulare website.

maybe if you are using a NAT firewall, it would be easier to restrict access using this most Internet routers for home use has such feature.





But if you don't have a internet router, you can configure fixed IP address, and use a dummy gateway address. then they would not be able to access the internet from these machines.

what would be norton internet securitys with Parental controls. you can from there define what sites they can get to ... or purhaps what they can NOT get to. even set the site rating. keyword blocking url blocking.

perhaps your child is using all kinda of bandwidth and you cant work from home because he is in there downloading stolen movies or something. you will want to buy a router that supports QOS or Quality of Service. often you will use QOS for IP phones so that they can get the exact amount of bandwidth they need. you can set this so that your child can only use so many percent of the internet or such that if you request the internet the router gives you first dibs on the connection.

linksys makes a router with QOS. there are many that do. this is just a suggestion.





you said '; i want to control another computer from my computer'; do you meen you want to work from your laptop but move the mouse on your desktop? that would be windows remote desktop assuming you have XP Pro. or if you have XP home you will want to download VNC.

also very simple solution if your kid is using too much internet.... get two routers. you hook up to one him to the other. if you want him off the internet.. unplug his router. very simple very direct.
