Where is the internet located and who controls it?

Somewhere there has to be a computer that controls everthing on the internet. I'm curious were that is and you has the control over it.Where is the internet located and who controls it?
All the servers over the world together is the internet. Not 1 pcWhere is the internet located and who controls it?
There is a big struggle to control the Internet but I hope that that never happens! It should be free and wild. Good luck!
the ';internet'; is stored on 100000's of computers known as servers, there is no 1 server that could hold the entire internet it would be in access of 100 trillion GB.
Internet is a complex net of webservers all over the world.
it comes from middle earth and it's controlled (or once was who knows now) by the hobbits.
It was created so that no one has contol over it. The Internet is the sum of all the computers connected at one time to a world wide network.

Some computer geeks basement, where the sun never shines and an old women brings Juice boxes and Pizza Puffs. Somewhere is Suberbia.

The internet is not a physical itam, it is an idea and group of websites and services which contruibute, everyone oens the internet and it's location in the endlsess space of every computer which attaches to it, and the networks, servres, and systems which run, control, and monitor the intenent.
that's like answering who controls your home's electricity. Sure, you may get power from one company, but if they were to go out of business, you'd simply get power from another company. No one person or computer or company controls the internet, anymore than one could control the power grids of North America.
Arkansas, Bill Clinton
Allegedy there's a company in the UNited States that maintains the infrastructure of the internet, rumor has it that it will be going international soon, though.
Everywhere and virtually everyone.
Skynet
The internet is located on planet earth and its surrounding space, approximately up to 22,000 miles, geostationary satellite orbit.

Instead of having one computer control it, it is instead platform-independent. This is exactly the thing that makes it unique.

DARPA was commissioned to come up with a communications system that could not be knocked out, even in the event of global thermonuclear exchange.

It is called the web because it looks like a spider web if you diagram it. You can punch holes in random areas and it will continue to work.

The WWW works exactly counter to a government. Where a government is about central control, WWW is about decentralized distributed processing. This is one of the reasons government is having such a tough time regulating the WWW. It is quite literally the power (information structure) of the 21st century, and 20th century governments fear it. As well they should! Their time has been and gone.
No single agency controls the internet. Here is a map of just the ISP's.
