Can you control the Internet bandwidth on you wireless router?

When ever my sister goes onto her computer the nintendo wii cant connect to play online, and when it does it will disconnect soon after.

so im guessing my sister is either on youtube or streaming or even downloading and taking up all the bandwidth.

is there a way to limit the bandwidth she can use?would it have to be done on the router or is there software i can get?Can you control the Internet bandwidth on you wireless router?
You can.

go into your Router's configuration. There should be a setting under ';Advanced Routing / Gaming'; and there are options to restrict bandwidth for a certain port.

I don't know exactly where (As I haven't toyed with a retail - router in forever), but it is there.Can you control the Internet bandwidth on you wireless router?
for sure, do it on the router level.

depending on your router, you will need to use ';load balancing';

Set each computer to a static IP, and set the bandwidth limit per each IP route.

Or if your router has the option, you can also do what frostednicks suggests.
See if your router has QoS. That will allow you to set priority for certain ports, etc. With that, yo may be able to control some bandwidth, or at least give yourself priority.
