For all you liberals that want the ';Fairness Doctrine'; are you ready to have the government to do the same to the internet?

They can't control their own affairs, why would I want them controlling mine?Do you want the federal government controlling the internet?

Do you even know what the fairness doctrine is ?





It basically means that the likes of Rush Limbaugh won't be able to legally lie to you anymore...because he's broadcasting on a frequency that you partially own as a matter of public trust.





It means that all the slandering, will have to be verifiable fact or it amounts to liable/defamation of character...





I can see why conservatives would oppose it....because it makes candidates play fair.





However I do agree with you on the net neutrality issue....and the net should remain free and open, ...the reason we can justify that is that you don't own any portion of the internet as a matter of public trust. If you put up your own webpage, you own or lease the webspace via ISP etc... Not to mention...removing net neutrality, would be impossible and un-enforceable.





I think the idea that the fairness doctrine could be somehow intertwined with net neutrality law.. is pretty weak. The whole point is that the public owns the airwaves,,... but nobody owns the internet.

yes... i am scared of predators and the predator drones.
They can't have all this truth flowing around..it will damage their agendas.
