%26gt; Tools

Scroll through and you will find what you need there. I have had to do this before. How do I disable active x controls in Internet explorer 7?
Go to Tools, Internet Options, Security tab, then click on Custom level. If you want to completely disable all Active X, then where it says ';Run Active X Controls and Plug-ins';, click disable. If you just want more control over which Active X downloads or runs, you can look through the commands and decide which you want. However, some sites have Active X built into the site and you can't disable that. Also, you need to allow Active X to obtain Windows Updates.

Update: You can also go to Tools, Internet Options, Programs tab, Manage Add-ons. From there you can look through the programs and disable those that have the ActiveX you don't want. You can also to choose to delete the ActiveX for a specific program.
