How do I control what programs access the internet with OSX?

I want something like ZoneAlarm, that will ask me when a program wants internet access. Such as Safari wants to access the internet, allow or deny.

Is there such a program for OSX. A free program if possible. How do I control what programs access the internet with OSX?
There's a great shareware application called Little Snitch which monitors network communications and alerts you when a program tries to access the internet. Just like Zone Alarm, you'll be able to allow or deny access. You can download and try Little Snitch for free, but in order to gain full functionality, you'll need to buy a license.

Oh how horrible! There is one reason that zonealarm exists. it's to monitor viruses trying to connect to/from the net! You don't need it on os x!

although it is possible. I don't think any serious programmers would attempt it.

Of course you can turn off your network, or turn on a firewall to stop or allow certain network activities.

UPDATE:

Oh you sneaky gal! You just redirect the particular host in your /etc/hosts file!

if you point a site to a bogus address it won't find it. Unless it goes there via direct ip address (Not likely)

my /etc/hosts contains sites that I want to go to without doing normal dns lookup!

OS X is Unix inside... all the old Unix tricks are equally applicable!

SECOND UPDATE!

OS X firewall is very configurable! you should be able to block there site from any access....

I haven't done it.. but you may find the magic commands that control the insides of the firewall!
